First Dance Friday: Die a Happy Man

Wedding season may be winding down, but that doesn’t mean that we are. When there are less weddings to attend, there is more time for planning! If you are still looking for a first dance song then you are in the right place! #FirstDanceFriday is a love song playlist from us to you. We aren’t going to recommend a song that you’ve seen on every other blog, we are searching across genres to find the perfect song for you. If you haven’t been dancing along with us for the past few weeks, go catch up, we’ll save your seat! We are putting in the work so you don’t have to. So sit back, relax, and daydream your first dance for the rest of the day!

For this week, we are going back to country with Die a Happy Man by Thomas Rhett. This is a song that he wrote for his wife, so you know its a good one! This song has a guitar, a smooth male voice, and a heartfelt message; everything we have come to love and expect from country music.

And I know that I can’t ever tell you enough, that all I need in this life is your crazy love (1:50)

Love is hard to explain. You know this is true if you have tried to sit down and write your vows yet. We feel you. It doesn’t matter how many times you say the words I love you, you know that you can never say them enough, but the love is there, and that’s all you need

If I never get to see the Northern Lights, or if I never get to see the Eiffel Tower at night, Oh if all I got is your hand in my hand, baby I would die a happy man (0.52)

The northern lights, and the Eiffel Tower are some of the most beautiful and iconic landmarks. They may even be on your bucket list. But even if you don’t make it to these destinations, it doesn’t matter, because you are happy and in love more and more each day. The person you are dancing with makes you happier and more complete than anything on your bucket list. And if you have been to these two places already, and you’ve already crossed them off your list, then this part of the song would have even more meaning for you since it lists places you have already travelled together!

Your the cutest, the hottest, you’re a saint, you’re a goddess, a masterpiece (1:38)

I mean who doesn’t like a compliment every once in a while. And 4 in a row, it really is a special day! You’re looking fierce obvi. SLAY!

I don’t need no vacation, no fancy destination, baby you’re my great escape. We could stay at home, listen to the radio, or dance around the fireplace (2:36)

Your marriage won’t always be a party like it is today. There won’t always be 50, or 100, or 500 people watching you dance, most of the time it will just be the two of you. Maybe you’re having a dance party in your living room to the new Britney cd, or maybe you’re dancing to this song in your pjs, whichever one makes you happy, you do you! Your relationship isn’t all about the glitz, and the glamour, its about the love and friendship between you and your husband or wife.

Maybe this couple above will be you and the love of you life, dancing together on your 50th wedding anniversary. Maybe you’re dancing to this song, or maybe you’ve chose another one. We want to know! Let us know in the comments or send us an email, we’d love to hear from you!

Until the next one. Cheers!
